De Montfort University is APiC UK's largest project to date at £4.7 million to supply and install new Kawneer curtain walling, windows and doors to the new main campus. APiC UK is proud to be a part of this great campus transformation project situated in the centre of Leicester, the contract comprises four distinct phases.

Firstly the re-cladding of the existing Arts Tower in curtain walling incorporating a large quantity of Teleflex operated ventilators to provide natural ventilation and photo voltaic fins fixed from the curtain walling via a specialist design bracket. The Design Wing has a multi storey curtain walling which also incorporates Teleflex operated ventilators and has a horizontal Brise Soleil to the South elevation. The spacious Food Court area was fitted with a single storey curtain walling incorporating sliding doors.

Finally the Pod which incorporates a spectacular facetted curtain walling, which also slopes outwards at 15 degrees. Within this area there are also electric actuator operated parallel opening ventilators and an external Brise Soleil fixed off the curtain walling. Whilst all phases of the project had their own distinct challenges the Arts Tower and the Pod in particular presented APiC with complicated design and fabrication issues which you can see from the amazing photos have been successfully embraced and resolved.
